Dance is a tool to cultivate a life of freedom - a catalyst for social change.

Movement Activists was established as an international network of artists passionate about intersecting dance and social action under the umbrella of Gibney Dance Community Action. In 2019, Movement Activists evolved into an exchange space for dancers to cultivate tools for bringing social change to their communities. Our collaborative workshop will explore topics on activating movement practices for various populations including incarcerated individuals, survivors of intimate partner violence, health recovery groups and youth. All sessions will include more than one facilitator.
